                            Chase Lane Goes Gold!

We are delighted to announce that Chase Lane has met the criteria for reaching the gold standard of the Essex Language and Communication School Award.

The importance of language for learning is evident across the whole school and curriculum.  Language and Communication is embedded as part of the school ethos and acknowledged as an area of high priority.

On award of a Gold Standard, the school can become a model of excellence, sharing best practice and becoming a ‘hub’ to other schools in our area.

We are immensely proud of this achievement.

The aim of the Essex Language and Communication School Award is to recognise a school’s excellence in supporting and developing children’s language and communication skills by developing provision at Universal, Targeted and Individual levels across four key areas:

• The learning environment
• The role of adults
• Language development and learning
• Person-centred approaches (the individual child)

Communication is fundamental to a child’s development, it is crucial for a child’s learning and social interactions both at school and into adulthood.

The award is received in recognition of all staff at Chase Lane showing a commitment and consistent approach when supporting our children with additional speech, language and communication difficulties.
