Christmas Dinner

Our Christmas dinner day was a big hit! The hall was filled with laughter and Christmas cheer as the children enjoyed the festivities with their teachers.

We would like to thank Mrs Perry, the kitchen staff, MDAs and helpers for making a wonderful dinner and helping to spread the Christmas spirit!

Santa's Grotto

The ACL would like to thank all our Chase Lane families for your kind Christmas decoration donations. The grotto looked magical! Santa and his elves had an amazing time meeting all the children and spreading the festive cheer!

Year 5 Ancient Egyptian Day

Year 5 had an amazing day on Thursday, 3rd November when they celebrated their Topic: 'Can you walk like an Egyptian?'

We had some visitors in to help recreate the times of Ancient Egyptians and completed lots of different workshops and activities throughout the day to enrich the children’s learning.

This ranged from observing real-life objects and artifacts for pupils to handle linked to Egyptian life, looking at daily life objects from the era, wheat grinding to make their own flour, making their own hieroglyph wheel to write and translate messages, a drama activity to build a pyramid and they even decorated a death mask in honour of a pharaoh that had passed on to the afterlife.

Everyone was in good spirits (despite the downpour of rain) and the outfits were just INCREDIBLE!

Well done Year 5!

Donations for the Harwich Food Bank

The ACL would like to say a huge thank you to the Chase Lane families for all of your generous donations to the Harwich Food Bank, an incredible charity.

Year 4 Ancient Greek Day

Recently, Year 4 celebrated the end of their Ancient Greek topic by dressing up and meeting a Greek warrior who told stories about Ancient Greek times.

They worked together to complete quizzes, puzzles and games and then in the afternoon, they had their very own mini Olympics where Sparta and Athens (Year 4 classes) competed against each other!

It was a fantastic day full of fun learning and a perfect way to end their topic.

Here are some photos from the day.
