National Curriculum

Chase Lane follows the Government's National Curriculum.

We teach English using the Talk for Writing model by Pie Corbett, a Talk for Reading approach to teach Reading in Key Stage 2, Read Write Inc. Phonics for Phonics and Reading in Early Years and Key Stage 1, Read Write Inc. Spelling across the school and Kinetic Letters for teaching Handwriting. For Maths teaching, we use the Singapore Maths model.

We deliver a skills based approach using milestones in line with the National Curriculum for Science, History, Geography, R.E, Art and  D.T. This approach is cross curricular and links to Literacy wherever possible.

Computing is taught and assessed through a scheme in line with National Curriculum requirements. We have specialist teachers for Music, French and PE who deliver their subjects in line with the National Curriculum.
